La escasez de fuentes en el caso Vlasta Lah

Abstract

In a historical moment in which the role of women in various areas of society is being claimed and recovered from conscious or unconscious oblivion, we propose with this work to develop an approach towards a personal and artistic biography of the first director of sound film in Argentin: Vlasta Lah. For this we will use sources of a different nature with the aim of shedding light on a remarkable life and career. The first problem that had to be faced was the profusion of erroneous data and, later, the complete absence of it. Once the work was finished, we were able to fully understand the importance of her figure as a pioneer and how her life represents that of so many other women who struggled to break through in a men’s world.
