Abstract

Outside the institutional framework of economically viable films from the post-AI-5 period of the military dictatorship in Brazil, Belair Filmes was a production company whose actorial (po)et(h)ics practised improvisation to the detriment of acting forms within more rigid methods. Therefore, the actor's work flows into a mosaic of performances in open spaces, in unscheduled encounters with passers-by (societal bodies), in a proposal of exasperated and self-consciously exposed performance that was in direct opposition to the panoptic power of existing coercive institutions.
