Abstract

Communications in digital media propose new ways of working with audiovisual material. Web series, interactive maps, infographics build a new type of nonlinear (hypertextual) narrative where content is fragmented into multiple input modes in a network of videos, photographs, audios, and texts. “Malvinas. A transmedia documentary experience” is an Argentine project from the year 2022 that aims to account for the history of the Malvinas War of 1982 with a testimonial imprint. In the present work we analyze this platform in a context of expansion of digital technologies at the intersections with audiovisual non-fiction and series designed for the Internet. It is proposed a look at the mechanisms, tools, and technologies of the media ecosystem for audiovisual narratives immersed in new frameworks of audiovisual creation and consumption.
